LinkedIn Ads: Where your target audience is active professionally, even if they are not yet actively searching.

LinkedIn Ads is one of the most expensive channels per click in B2B, and precisely for that reason, one of the channels where poor structure is most costly. The advantage: You reach decision-makers directly via job title, company size, and industry, not indirectly. The disadvantage: Without a clear separation between "reaching new target groups" and "bringing back existing visitors," the budget is quickly wasted on flawed campaign logic. I build LinkedIn Ads accounts where these two tasks are run and measured separately.

LinkedIn Ads: Freelancers instead of agencies – what this means for you

LinkedIn Ads is expensive per click in B2B; every targeting error directly impacts your budget. As a LinkedIn Ads freelancer, I take on this responsibility myself, from defining your target audience to ongoing optimization, without a junior team sitting between you and your campaign. What often goes wrong with LinkedIn Ads in B2B

Push: Cold calling target groups (feed ads deliberately interrupt)

Cold calling target groups aren't about fulfilling an existing search intent, but about deliberately interrupting it: reaching a person scrolling through their feed with a message relevant to their role and company. Targeting is based on job title, seniority, company size, and industry, not keywords. Success is measured honestly by visibility and inquiry quality, not by an unrealistically low cost-per-lead.

Pull: Retargeting & warm audiences (already known visitors)

Retargeting campaigns target people who are already familiar with your website or profile; this is the audience with the highest conversion probability in the entire LinkedIn setup. I run these campaigns with separate budgets and metrics from cold calling to ensure the two campaigns don't dilute each other's impact and to allow you to see exactly what each portion of the budget is delivering.

How the process looks

01

Analysis call

We define your target group based on job title, seniority, company size and industry.

02

Separate campaigns

Cold calling target groups (push) and retargeting of warm visitors (pull) are set up, budgeted and measured separately.

03

Ongoing support

Target group management, ad rotation and budget control across both campaign types.

04

Reporting & Optimization

You can clearly see which part of the budget brings visibility and which part brings inquiries.

Proof

Ongoing DACH mandate

LinkedIn Ads is deliberately used as a visibility and trust channel with decision-makers, while lead generation is handled via Google Ads. This is a conscious division of tasks, not a makeshift solution.

B2B robotics companies (Germany, Austria, Switzerland)

Direct client, LinkedIn Ads live since June 2026: Cold calling and retargeting campaigns clearly separated and set up for a B2B robotics company. Early phase, no year-on-year comparison yet, but a current example of how to set it up in practice.

Track Record

Over €50 million in managed advertising budget, more than 10 years of marketing experience across Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads and Meta Ads.

How much does that cost?

A LinkedIn Ads contract with me starts at €2,500 per month, minimum term 6 months.

from €2,500 / month
Minimum contract term 6 months

Why the minimum term period: Cold calling campaigns typically take several weeks to produce a reliable picture; this applies to the cost per click as well as the cost per lead.

Combination with Google Ads: If LinkedIn Ads is used in conjunction with a second paid channel, the multi-channel framework applies from €3,000/month, see [link/reference]. Services overview.

Frequently Asked Questions

LinkedIn clicks are usually significantly more expensive than Google Ads clicks in the B2B sector. This isn't a setup error, but rather the market reality of a channel with very precise, yet limited, B2B targeting.

It depends on the target audience. If the target audience can be narrowly defined by job title and company size, LinkedIn is often the better starting point. If the target audience is already actively searching for a solution, Google Ads is usually more efficient. This will be discussed in our initial consultation based on your specific situation.

Cold calling campaigns typically take several weeks to produce reliable results because the target audience is often seeing the brand for the first time. Retargeting campaigns usually work faster because the target audience has already had contact with the brand.

Not strictly necessary, but recommended if your target audience comes from your feed and has little context regarding the brand. Whether this is needed depends on the rest of your funnel.

For very small budgets, LinkedIn Ads is often less efficient than Google Ads because the minimum cost per click is high. This is stated honestly; it's not simply a sales pitch just because the channel is in their portfolio.
